The minoxy® microclimate enclosure is marketed B to B and B to C. The B to B version (archives, museums, libraries and historical societies) would be the main thrust for “Smartglass”. Custom size manufactured to the specific needs of the item(s) being displayed. The enclosure can be used for 2D and 3D items in a passively controlled hypoxic/anoxic atmosphere with stable humidity levels. The multi-patented enclosure is made from glass and metal with an extruded frame around the perimeter that acts as a clamp to secure everything together. A custom 16″ x 20″ x 1″ enclosure would have a MSRP in the $5,000 -$8,000 range depending on options. Optional service programs are also available for clients.
I have contacted and shown this enclosure at 4 trade shows in the preservation field and have several major distributors already lined up for distribution in addition to direct sales.
